The Poon Hill trek via Ghorepani is possibly the best short Himalayan trek! This short and delightful walk is suitable for individuals of all ages and takes you right into the heart of Annapurna!

It is a short trek in the Annapurna region that takes you to one of the most famous viewpoints of the region, Poon Hill. From here, you see gorgeous sunrise along with the western Himalayan Mountains. Compared to trekking to Everest Base Camp or the Annapurna Circuit, the Ghorepani trek is the best choice for those who don’t have the physical strength for a longer trek.

The 7 Days Ghorepani trek encompassing Poon Hill and Ghandruk Region is also among the most traveled treks in the Annapurna region. The rays of morning lights on glistening snow-capped peaks create a heavenly view that will melt your heart. This is a perfect trek for couples, families, club members, students, and a group of friends. Trekking to Ghorepani is full of excitement and surprises with an astonishing array of vegetation with dense forests of rhododendron, juniper, oak, birch, etc.

Itinerary

After having early breakfast at hotel and we drive along the Trisuli and Mashyangdi River to reach Pokhara, we will see the beautiful river view and the view of Ganesh Himal and Mountain Manaslu as well during the driving, Pokhara is tourist's paradise with full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, temples of Buddhist and Hindus along with mountains, after 6 hours of drive; we will arrive in Pokhara.

Option: If you are interested for rafting then you have options to take 3 hour rafting in Trisuli river on the way to Pokhara – you do not need extra day to do this Raft as we can stop and do the Raring and continue on our journey.

After having breakfast at hotel in Pokhara, we take short drive to Nayapul ,then start our trekking to Tikhedhunga (1577M) Via Birethanti (1065m.), it is easy trekking passing through several villages and settlements, Afterwards we will ascend gently to the final destination of the day.

After having breakfast at lodge, we start the trek and ascend steeply for the first 2 hours then ascend gently passing through Ulleri (2070m.) and Banthanti, We will see good view of Machhapuchhare or Fish Tail (6997m.), Hiunchuli (6441m.), and Annapurna (7219m) south on the way. Now, our trail is quite easier passing through rhododendron and shadowy trees and ascends gently up to the final camp.

Today, we hike to Poon Hill (3232m.) to enjoy the sunrise view over Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Tukuche Peak (6920m.), Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar (7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.), Machhapuchhare (6993m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.), Annapurna II (7937m.), Lamjung Himal (6931m.) and other numerous snowcapped mountains in the morning then Hike down to Ghorepani, have a hot breakfast at Lodge and trek to Tadapani (2650 m.).

Most part of the trail we trek through rhododendron forest, the beautiful flower makes the jungle colorful in spring when they bloom.

Today, it is easy trekking by descending gently all the way through rhododendron, oak and other kinds of dense forests to Ghandruk, We will hear different kinds of birds chirping on the way, This is one of the popular destinations for the birds' lovers, Ghandruk is a big Gurung village.

There is a handicraft centre and Gurung museum in Ghundruk if you are interested to visit them, from this village we will see the views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna (7455m.), Annapurna III (7755m.) and Fishtail.

Today is our last day of our trek day and it is easy trek down by descending gently half of the way through the rice field and local villages to Syauli bazaar and trek flat part until Nayapul then drive to Pokhara.

We take tourist bus at 7 AM to drive to Kathmandu and the driving will be fantastic along with many towns and we are able to see the settlements, Rivers, terraces and landscapes, after 6 hours driving we will arrive Kathmandu.
