Itinerary
Day 1 :
Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m / 4,593 ft)
Description: Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Spend the day exploring the vibrant streets of Thamel, preparing for the trek, and attending a pre-trek briefing.
Highlights: Explore Kathmandu's cultural sites like Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) and Boudhanath Stupa.
Day 2 :
Fly to Lukla (2,860 m / 9,383 ft) and Trek to Phakding (2,610 m / 8,562 ft)
Trek Duration: 3-4 hours
Description: An early morning flight from Kathmandu takes you to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. Begin your trek with a gentle walk through forests, crossing several suspension bridges before reaching the village of Phakding.
Highlights: Scenic flight to Lukla, first glimpse of mountain landscapes.
Day 3 :
Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m / 11,286 ft)
Trek Duration: 6-7 hours
Description: Follow the Dudh Koshi River, crossing multiple suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge. Climb steeply through pine forests to reach Namche Bazaar, the main trading hub of the region.
Highlights: First views of Everest and Lhotse, vibrant Sherpa culture in Namche.
Day 4 :
Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar
Description: A day to rest and acclimatize in Namche Bazaar. You can hike to the Everest View Hotel for panoramic views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other peaks. Explore the Sherpa Culture Museum and the local markets.
Highlights: Stunning mountain views, acclimatization hikes, exploring local culture.
Day 5 :
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Dole (4,200 m / 13,779 ft)
Trek Duration: 5-6 hours
Description: The trail ascends out of Namche and branches off towards the Gokyo Valley. Hike through rhododendron and pine forests, passing small settlements and enjoying views of Thamserku, Kantega, and Cho Oyu.
Highlights: Beautiful forests, less crowded trails, views of the mountains.
Day 6 :
Trek from Dole to Machhermo (4,470 m / 14,665 ft)
Trek Duration: 4-5 hours
Description: A gradual ascent takes you through alpine meadows to Machhermo. The trail offers stunning views of Cho Oyu and other peaks along the way.
Highlights: Scenic landscapes, Machhermo's traditional village.
Day 7 :
Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo (4,800 m / 15,748 ft)
Trek Duration: 4-5 hours
Description: Trek to the beautiful Gokyo Valley, passing the first, second, and third Gokyo Lakes. The third lake, Gokyo, is particularly stunning, with its turquoise waters surrounded by snow-capped peaks.
Highlights: Spectacular views of the Gokyo Lakes and the surrounding mountains.
Day 8 :
Climb Gokyo Ri (5,357 m / 17,575 ft) and Explore Gokyo
Trek Duration: 4-5 hours (up and down)
Description: An early morning hike up Gokyo Ri provides one of the best panoramic views in the Everest region, including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. Spend the rest of the day exploring Gokyo village or relaxing by the lakes.
Highlights: Unmatched panoramic views, serene lakes, and glacier views.
Day 9 :
Trek from Gokyo to Thagnak (4,700 m / 15,420 ft)
Trek Duration: 3-4 hours
Description: Cross the Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest glacier in Nepal, to reach the small settlement of Thagnak. The trail can be challenging due to rocky terrain.
Highlights: Glacier crossing, views of rugged mountain landscapes.
Day 10 :
Cross Cho La Pass (5,420 m / 17,782 ft) and Trek to Dzongla (4,830 m / 15,846 ft)
Trek Duration: 7-8 hours
Description: A challenging day crossing the high and steep Cho La Pass, which is often covered in snow. After the pass, descend carefully to Dzongla, a small village with spectacular views of Cholatse.

Day 11 :
Trek from Dzongla to Lobuche (4,940 m / 16,207 ft)
Trek Duration: 3-4 hours
Description: A shorter and relatively easier day with gentle ascents to Lobuche, following a trail along the Khumbu Glacier. Views of Pumori, Nuptse, and other peaks.
Highlights: Close-up views of towering peaks, khumbu glacier
Day 12 :
Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,164 m / 16,942 ft) and Visit Everest Base Camp (5,364 m / 17,598 ft)
Trek Duration: 7-8 hours
Description: A challenging day trekking to Gorak Shep, followed by a visit to Everest Base Camp. The trail follows the Khumbu Glacier, with rocky terrain and dramatic scenery.
Highlights: Reaching Everest Base Camp, close views of the Khumbu Icefall.
Day 13 :
Hike to Kala Patthar (5,545 m / 18,192 ft) and Trek to Pheriche (4,371 m / 14,340 ft)
Trek Duration: 7-8 hours
Description: An early morning hike to Kala Patthar, offering the best close-up views of Mount Everest. Descend back to Gorak Shep and then continue down to Pheriche for the night.
Highlights: Sunrise views of Everest, descent to lower altitudes.
Day 14 :
Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar
Trek Duration: 6-7 hours
Description: Retrace your steps down the valley, passing through Pangboche and Tengboche, with opportunities to visit monasteries and enjoy the mountain scenery.

Day 15 :
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla
Trek Duration: 6-7 hours
Description: A long day trekking back to Lukla, descending through the lush forests and crossing suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River.

Day 16 :
Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu
Description: Take a morning flight back to Kathmandu. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure, exploring the city or relaxing after the trek.

Day 17 :
Departure from Kathmandu
Description: Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some time to explore Kathmandu or do some last-minute shopping before departure.
