Itinerary
Day 1 :
Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)
Upon arriving in Kathmandu, you’ll be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is spent relaxing, recovering from travel, and receiving a briefing about the trek. This is your introduction to the exciting journey ahead.
Day 2 :
Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek Preparation
Spend the day exploring Kathmandu’s rich cultural heritage, visiting iconic sites like Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), and Boudhanath. After sightseeing, finalize preparations for the trek, ensuring you have all essentials packed and ready.
Day 3 :
Drive to Machha Khola
Begin the journey with a long but scenic drive through hills, rivers, and terraced farmlands to reach Machha Khola. The ride offers glimpses of rural Nepalese life and sets the tone for the adventure.
Day 4 :
Trek to Jagat
The first trekking day takes you through forests and suspension bridges, following the Budhi Gandaki River. Pass through villages like Khorlabesi, gradually gaining altitude as you reach Jagat, the gateway to the Manaslu region.
Day 5 :
Trek to Lokpa
The trail climbs through lush green landscapes with waterfalls and picturesque villages. As you ascend, the path leads toward Lokpa, the starting point of the Tsum Valley trek, introducing you to quieter, less-trodden routes.
Day 6 :
Trek to Chumling
Today’s trail enters the lower Tsum Valley, crossing rivers and trekking through dense forests. The serene environment, coupled with stunning views of the surrounding hills, makes this a memorable day.
Day 7 :
Trek to Chhokang Paro
Ascend further into the heart of the Tsum Valley, passing through small settlements and religious landmarks like prayer wheels and mani walls. The day ends in Chhokang Paro, offering breathtaking views of the Ganesh Himal range.
Day 8 :
Trek to Nile via Mu Gompa
This day includes a visit to Mu Gompa, one of the most significant monasteries in the region, followed by a trek to the village of Nile. The journey takes you through sacred landscapes steeped in Tibetan Buddhist culture.
Day 9 :
Return to Chhokang Paro
Retrace your steps down the valley, allowing time to fully immerse in the peaceful environment and interact with locals who preserve their unique traditions and lifestyles.
Day 10 :
Trek to Deng
Rejoining the main Manaslu Circuit trail, you descend through forests and cross suspension bridges. The trail winds through diverse landscapes, offering a mix of lush greenery and views of distant peaks.
Day 11 :
Trek to Namrung
Trek through steep sections with awe-inspiring views of Mt. Manaslu and other peaks. Namrung is a cultural hub, where you can observe Tibetan-influenced architecture and traditions.
Day 12 :
Trek to Samagaon
Continue ascending, passing through Lho and Shyala, villages offering some of the best panoramic views of Manaslu. Samagaon, at the base of Mt. Manaslu, is a significant stop for acclimatization
Day 13 :
Acclimatization in Samagaon
Spend the day exploring nearby attractions, such as Pungyen Gompa or trekking to Manaslu Base Camp. This day is crucial for adjusting to the altitude.
Day 14 :
Trek to Samdo
An easier day as the trail climbs gently to Samdo, a small Tibetan refugee village. The surrounding mountains create a serene, majestic atmosphere.
Day 15 :
Trek to Dharamsala
Trek further to Dharamsala, the base camp for crossing the Larkya La Pass. Rest here and prepare for the challenging day ahead.
Day 16 :
Cross Larkya La Pass and Trek to Bimthang
A thrilling day as you cross the Larkya La Pass (5,106m), the highest point of the trek. The views from the top are unparalleled, showcasing snow-covered peaks and expansive landscapes. Descend to Bimthang for a well-deserved rest.
Day 17 :
Trek to Dharapani and Drive to Kathmandu
Descend through rhododendron forests, crossing rivers and small villages until you reach Dharapani. From there, take a scenic drive back to Kathmandu, reflecting on the incredible journey.

Departure
Your adventure concludes as you depart from Kathmandu, taking home unforgettable memories of the Manaslu Tsum Valley trek.
